Making room for new!

Wow! It isn't very often I get to spend most of a Saturday stamping! Today was super quiet because my little ones were outside playing with the neighbors...all day! I took advantage of this unusual quiet time and decided to use some products that have been sitting...retired or about to retire.
I haven't had a lot of time lately and now that the new catalog is out...I need to use up the old so I can bring in the new! I actually made quite a few cards...it was so much fun!

For this card, I used the Happy Watercolor stamp set and Watercolor Wonder designer paper. These products were in the Spring catalog--sadly retired. However, you can still get the digital download! I think I even used Gumball Green cardstock for this card-and it is also retired. Garden Green is very similar though.

This card can easily be done using other products, as the layout is very simple and versatile.

I have enjoyed my stamp time today and will be sharing more cards with you! Thank you for stopping by!

Under the Sea

I have been drooling over the work of a talented stamper, Michelle Zindorf, here lately! Her work is absolutely amazing. She creates scenery that is so life like with stamps, ink and paper. To see her work, click here. I finally just had to CASE one of her cards just to see if I could even come close!
Now, I am pretty sure she uses a brayer to achieve a lot of her really cool effects, but since I don't have one of those (I will soon though) I had to resort to the ol' sponge.

I just cant get over how cool the water looks! I am not sure how Michelle did it, but I simply used a scratch piece of paper and sponged off the side of it then moved it over a little and repeated at an angle. I used Lost Lagoon and Pool Party ink for the water. The images were stamped using the By the Tide stamp set.
For the bottom, I just sponged a little Mossy Meadow and Soft Suede ink together until I liked the color.
I used the Sweet Essentials stamp set for the sentiment, which is retired, but anything will work here.

The "reef" was stamped in Cajun Craze and the sea horses were stamped onto Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock using Calypso Coral ink and cut out by hand. Popped this up with Stampin' Dimensionals and added some pearls for "bubbles"!

What do you think?

 Soooo cool, right?
I just can't stop looking at this card! I felt like an artist creating this card and can't wait to try some different scenes. You really must check out Michelle's blog! Ahh-mazing!

I hope you are inspired to give this a try! It is so much fun! All of the products used can be purchased in my Online Store, where you can shop 24/7!

Thanks for stopping by!
